Let’s Read Some Easter Books!

Do you enjoy reading to kids? Then I have some wonderful Easter books for you and your littles!

But first, did you know that one of the benefits of reading to kids is that it helps them find language to express their feelings? It also gives kids the opportunity to talk about their feelings. This is a large reason why reading to kids not only helps them educationally, but emotionally. And it starts when they’re very young.

According to Scholastic, there is a clear positive connection between kids’ mental health and literacy. Teens who read five or more days a week reported having more feelings of excitement and pride than their non-reading peers, who reported greater feelings of anxiousness, depression, and loneliness.

Furthermore, according to the Center for Bible Engagement, children who read the Bible at least four days a week have a 54% lower risk of behavioral problems. Children who read the Bible at least one to three times a week have a 43% lower risk of behavioral problems, compared to those who do not read it at all. When children participate in faith-based reading, it provides a foundation for moral and ethical values, and these kids are more apt to become faithful adults (according to LifeWay Research).

This is why my podcast co-host, Del, and I love to bring other children’s authors on our show to tell about their faith-based books for kids. These books are a great tool to help teach children the things of God and grow their child-like faith. And what better time to read the Easter story to the littles in your life!

We’ve had a couple of authors as guests recently to let you know of some great Easter books for kids, and we had several on leading up to last Christmas as well (you can check them out at the link below). All of these books can be found on Amazon by clicking on the titles below. We so hope you’ll check them out and grab one or more to give as gifts or with your Easter baskets. Hey, why not fill a whole Easter basket with books! It’s WAY healthier than candy…LOL.
