Is There Hope for America?

Hi Friends,

Do you ever feel discouraged or hopeless for America? There sure is a whole lot of crazy going on. Is there hope for America? Is there anything we can do, or have things gone too far?

For sure, we are in a spiritual war, as it says in Ephesians 6:12 –

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

The way we fight a spiritual war is by putting on our armor (Ephesians 6:13-17) and praying (v18). And Jesus told us in Luke 18:1, “Always pray, and don’t lose heart.” That’s because some battles require more intense fighting and take longer to win, and we can’t give up. We must “pray continuously” or “without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). The worse things look, the harder we must fight in prayer.

But sometimes it’s hard to know how and what to pray when things look so dark and out of control. That is when we can take up the “sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God” (v17). In other words, pray Scripture. The Word of God is alive and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), and so it’s a powerful weapon when used to pray. Jesus used Scripture to fight the devil, and we can too.

So, would you agree with me in prayer and pray these scriptures to the God of Heaven’s Armies for our country?

Let’s pray together…

Lord of Heaven’s Armies, Turn Your ear and listen; rescue us quickly. Be our rock of protection, our fortress where we will be safe (Psalm 31:2). Have mercy on us as we trust You for protection and hide in Your refuge until the danger passes by (Psalm 57:1).

Turn America again to Yourself, O God of Heaven’s Armies. Make your face shine down on us. Only then will be we be saved (Psalm 80:7). Do not deliver us into the hand of our oppressors, but according to Your great compassion, deliver us from our enemies (both foreign and domestic!) (Nehemiah 9:27). Give the command to save us and deliver us out of the hands of the unrighteous (Psalm 71:3-4).

Lord, Let no weapon formed against us prosper (Isaiah 54:17). You have told us to not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not ours, but Yours (2 Chronicles 20:15).

So Lord, God of vengeance, let your glorious justice shine forth! Cause those who rise up against our families and our country to be defeated (Deuteronomy 28:7). Lord, cause our enemies’ schemes to be turned back on them (Psalm 94:1 & 23) as we come against them in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies (1 Samuel 17:45).

And it’s in His mighty name we pray. Amen.

Thanks for stopping by and praying with me. Let’s keep praying and not “lose heart.” There is hope for America … when we pray!

Agreeing with all in prayer for our country. Praying against the spirit of deception, and praying for a hunger for truth. Praying that God will bring a refreshing of revelation and remove the blinding veil from so many people’s minds.

“And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
