Prayerdemic Prayers – His Commandments Are Not Cancelled

Have you ever been in an airplane on a cloudy day? You can’t see a thing as the plane soars through dense clouds. It’s as though the clouds cancel the sun. But once you rise above them, there it is – the sun in all its brilliance.

We are living in a time when some people are attempting to cancel anything that has to do with laws or truth. Dark clouds of moral decay have been swelling slowly over time, seemingly canceling the “light.” People don’t even realize how dark it is, until a child soft porn movie releases and people are alarmed. Still, many aren’t, because their spiritual eyes have adjusted to the darkness.

Those of us who are alarmed shouldn’t be surprised. Things have been steadily deteriorating for years. We had a taste of what was coming in the Super Bowl halftime show in February, when some people’s attitude was what’s the big deal, there’s immorality all around us, so why be upset now?

Have we let this happen? Have we sat back and drank the world’s tranquilizers with everybody else? We can explain away the evil and call it progressive, but it’s because we’ve strayed from God’s laws. The enemy’s intended slow fade of desensitization has worked, and any voice we may have had is being cancelled by a so-called progressive culture. But progressive is just a word used to disguise lawlessness. It is not progressive; it’s regressive. The proof? The further we get from God’s commandments, the worse off we are.

God’s laws don’t change to please man’s passions. They cannot be cancelled any more than the sun behind the clouds. The “Son” isn’t cancelled, nor are God’s commandments. Nor is our obedience to them.

So what can we do now to allow God’s light, love and laws to pierce the darkness of our world? Let’s be strong and stand for truth and righteousness. We can do things like:

  • Vote with our voice – write letters and let our voice be heard.
  • Vote with our wallet – stop giving our money to companies we know use it to support things that are against God’s laws. Until these companies stop making millions off us, they will not listen. Money talks.
  • Vote – in all levels of government. No man or woman is perfect, and we can no longer trust the media who skews things to their own narrative. How then do we know who to vote for? We can vote solely according to biblical principles.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Psalm 33:12).

No matter what politicians we may like or dislike, the most important factor is: who will stand for religious liberty so we can worship and follow God’s commandments the way He intended so God can bless our country? (click to tweet)

No matter what a leader does economically or anything else, God will not bless a people who do not obey Him. Our country was blessed because we were a Christian nation. If you don’t believe it, read Psalm 106 for a review of Israel’s disobedience to the Lord.

God blesses obedience. We cannot depend on man to save us, only God and our obedience to Him. It’s time we stop blaming all our problems on our leaders, looking for them to fix us. WE as a nation have disobeyed God’s laws.

Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless. Psalm 60:11 NKJV (click to tweet)

You may think, let someone else do it. Or I don’t have time to write a letter. Or, I don’t want to give up my sports, my shows or my coffee, etc. But think about it: our complacency is exactly why we are in the condition we are in.

And so our world gets darker. And darker…

Is this the world we want to leave to our kids?

“The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.” -Edmund Burke

We must rise above the dense darkness in our country to God’s love and laws, shining in all their brilliance above the clouds of godlessness (and they are brilliant as well as brilliant!).

  • Finally, the most important thing we must do is pray. Would you commit to pray daily for America? Perhaps you’d like to join me in fasting as well (to whatever degree you are able).

Let’s pray this scriptural prayer together now.

Father God, You are I AM and there is no other; we look to you to be saved (Isaiah 45:22). You created us (Genesis1:1) and taught us how to live by Your Word (2 Timothy 3:16). You knew our best life on this earth would be by loving You with all our heart soul and mind (Matthew 22:37).

But like many before us, we have strayed and lost our way. We have kindled Your wrath. We have forgotten You and rebelled and been brought low from our iniquities. Nevertheless, regard our affliction and hear our cry (Psalm 106:13, 40, 43). Help us, O Lord our God, and save us according to Your mercy (Psalm 109:26). Forgive us and cleanse us from our unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Help us to turn back to You and Your ways (Jeremiah 18:11). Help us to not forget Your Word (Psalm 119:16). Help us to repent and return to You, that our sins may be wiped away and times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord in our land (Acts 3:19). For Blessed are those who do righteousness at all times (Psalm 106:3).

Revive us, Lord, that Your people may rejoice in You (Psalm 85:6). Thank you for Your love, Your patience, Your great mercy and grace. In Jesus Might Name, Amen

And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain… Deuteronomy 11:13-14 NKJV (emphasis added)
