Prayerdemic Prayers – Help is Not Cancelled

Dear Friends,

In these days of strife and turmoil, people are set against each other with differing beliefs about who did what, who is lying and who the corrupt ones are. We have no real way of knowing the truth. Only God knows the truth and who our real enemies are. Let’s look to Him in unity and humility asking for His wisdom and help. He is faithful, so let’s pray this prayer together…

Lord God, Maker of heaven and earth, we look to You for help. You made the universe, the highest mountains and deepest oceans and everything in between, but our help comes not from them, nor from man, but from You (Psalm 121:1-2). Only You know what is true and what is false (Hebrews 4:13 ). Only You have the understanding we need to make our paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). Only You can protect and guard us (Psalm 127:1). Only You are our help and shield (Psalm 33:20 115:11).

If You are for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:31)? And so, we implore Your help with those who are against us and our nation. Lord, how long will the wicked be allowed to gloat? O God of vengeance, let your glorious justice shine forth (Psalm 94:4&1)!

Oh Lord, do not let the wicked rule (Psalm 125:3). Do not let false witnesses and liars go unpunished (Proverbs 19:9). Confuse and frustrate the plans of those who stir up conflict and violence against us (55:9). Let those who are against us be caught in the trap they set for us (Psalm 35:8). If You are not our help when the enemy’s anger is flared against us, we would be swept away. Lord, cause us to escape like a bird in a trap, because our help is in the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth (Psalm 124:1-8). Listen to our cry for help, for we pray to no one but You (Psalm 5:2). Arise, O God, and punish the wicked, for we are helpless against them (Psalm 10:12), but we put our trust in You (Psalm 10:14). Let us see the recompense of the wicked (Psalm 91:8).

Thank you that when Your people cry for help, You hear (Psalm 18:6), and as soon as we pray, You answer (Psalm 138:3). O Lord, the godly are fast disappearing! The faithful have vanished from the earth (Psalm 12:1)! Forgive us our debts, Lord. Help us to hide Your word in our heart so we might not sin against You (Psalm 119:11). Cleanse us from all unrighteousness, for You are faithful and just (1 John 1:9). Let Your everlasting loving-kindness draw us back to Yourself and bring on revival (Jeremiah 31:3), even for the wicked!

Thank You, Lord, that we have nothing to fear when You are with us; we need not be dismayed when You are our God. For You will strengthen us and help us and uphold us with Your righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).

In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen.

I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart. Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together. Psalm 34:2-3

My passion is for people to turn, or return, to God and pray more often and more fervently. The Bible says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.” I believe if we turn to God and His ways, as it says in 2 Chronicles 7:14, God will heal our land.

If you would like to pursue God through prayer more deeply, I encourage you to read my book, Pursuing Prayer – Being Effective in a Busy World. This book will give you a better understanding of the importance and power of prayer, inspire you to want to pray more and help to make your prayers more powerful and effective. Pursuing Prayer is a Bible study or a personal devotional. You can find it on Amazon, or anywhere books are sold.

And when you sign up to receive the Prayerdemic Prayers through my blog, you will receive my free download, “Ten Prayer Tips for Busy Days.”

A wonderful and (unlike so many) succinct prayer that is so timely and relative to today. Thank you.
