Feeling Overwhelmed?

Dear Friends,

Are you feeling overwhelmed by all that’s been going on in our country and the world? That’s why I’ve been posting prayers for America, to give us some peace and hope when we’re overwhelmed by it all. Well, my book, Pursuing Prayer for America – 21 Battle Cries for Our Nation is finally available for just that reason. It released October 3–for such a time as this!

We don’t have to feel overcome by it all. We can pray!

This book has 21 topical prayers using Scripture to pray for our nation (much like the prayers I’ve been posting here). God’s Word is powerful and does not return void. Jesus used God’s Word to fight satan and we can too. And, praying Scripture is a great way to pray when we are overwhelmed and not sure how or what to pray.

I hope you’ll hop on over to Amazon and grab a copy so we can all be praying these powerful scriptures together for America in the coming days. Here’s the link,  https://www.amzn.com/B0DJ6PL1T5

And here’s a sample of the kind of prayers you will find in this book so we can gain peace when we’re feeling overwhelmed. I’ve also updated this post and added a special prayer for Florida, as we go through the coming storm and its aftermath.

Overwhelmed

O God, listen to our cry; hear our prayer as we cry to you for help. We are weary from many burdens and we need Your rest. We feel overwhelmed by all that is going on in America and in the world, but we come to Your towering rock of safety for refuge (Psalm 61:1-3, Matthew 11:28).

Lord, we ask You to set us free from fear (Psalm 34:4). When we feel anxious, fearful, and disheartened over the problems in our country, help us to return to a dependence and confidence in Your strength and salvation in order to have rest (Isaiah 30:15). Help us to keep our eyes on You, our Prince of Peace, so we will not sink to fear or be dismayed (Matthew 14:29-31, Isaiah 9:5); strengthen and help us and hold us up in Your faithful right hand (Isaiah 41:10).

Heavenly Father, let no weapon formed against us prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Do not allow our enemies’ evil schemes to succeed (Psalm 21:11). When the wicked plots against the just, cause their plans to be cut off (Psalm 37:12, 34).

When we are afraid, we will put our trust in You (Psalm 56:3). We thank You that  You hear and deliver us; we thank You that You are with us in America to fight against our enemies (Psalm 34:17, 1 Corinthians 15:57). We thank You, Almighty God, that You have given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).

Lord, I pray specifically for: [add your own thoughts here]

In the mighty name of Jesus, our Prince of Peace. Amen.

God bless you, and God bless America!

Peace,

Penny
