Call to Prayer for America
Friends, Has anyone heard of a call to prayer and fasting lately for America? I’m not talking about a day of prayer, or certain churches doing their own prayer events, but a national call to prayer for America, with fasting. I haven’t heard of anything. If I’ve missed something, please let me know. I know…

It’s another Labor Day weekend to celebrate the American worker. Labor Day also signals the end of summer with, ironically, an extra day off from our labor. But let’s not take a day off from prayer, even though it can sometimes feel laborious and tedious. Perhaps you’ve felt this way as I have at times.…

My heart is heavy about the state of our country and world. Is yours? I feel deeply compelled to write about it and pray for God to heal our land, and I hope I can make some sense of our world today and how to get our nation back. I hope you’ll pray with me…

It came and went…the day many people planned for, spent money and time for travel, and looked forward to–the total solar eclipse over the United States. An amazing event for sure, one not seen in over a thousand years, and one there’s been a lot of talk and speculation about. On Sunday, I shared a…

Did Jesus really mean for us to recite this…

Do You Need a Praycation? Who doesn’t need a reprieve from all the news lately? Who would not like to run away and stick their head in the sand right about now? I admit, I can get quite caught up in it all. I research everything, and it can be a bit disturbing as I…

See video version of this blog here. In our nation’s young life, it has seen a lot of war – 12 if you include the current war on terror, plus many domestic and international conflicts. The number of casualties is sobering. Here are just a few of the statistics: Nearly 7,000 U.S. troops have died in…

Before many of our current events took place, I wrote, “It’s time to get back to fervent, faith-filled, fruit-bearing prayer. Our families, our country and our world are at stake.” I had no idea just how “at stake” they were going to be. I’ve since written, “We need a prayerdemic!” We are living in turbulent…

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 In the verse above, we are told to pray for our…
