A Fasting Prayer for America

Hi Friends and Prayer Partners,

Just checking in to see how your fasting is going. One more day. Just want to encourage you to keep going and keep praying for America, even when our three-day fast is done. I thought I would share a fasting prayer for America with you from my book, Pursuing Prayer for America: 21 Battle Cries for Our Nation.

Let’s pray…

Heavenly Father, we humbly submit to You and seek Your mercy and grace for ourselves and for the United States of America. We cry out to You to hear and honor our requests for the healing of our nation. We know that if we truly seek You and turn from our wicked ways, You will hear our prayers and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14).

We also know we are in a spiritual war in America, and that some kinds of battles are not won without prayer and fasting (Ephesians 6:12, Matthew 17:21). We lift our face to you now and plead in prayer with fasting and sorrow (Daniel 9:3). Our hearts turn to you with fasting, weeping and mourning over our sins and the sins of our nation (Joel 2:12). Let Your eyes be open, and Your ears be attentive to the prayers made at this time for the healing of America (2 Chronicles 7:15).

During this time of prayer and fasting, may we consume more of Your Word, our true daily bread (Matthew 4:4, 6:11).

In the name of Jesus, our Bread of Life (John 6:35). Amen.

If you’d like to share, I’d love to hear what God is doing in your heart through your fast, what God has shown or taught you, or what clarity you might be getting. One thing I love that fasting does is it clears the cobwebs and helps us see things more clearly. If you’d like to share, you can put it in the comment section below, or you can hit the contact button here and message me privately.

Thank you for fasting and praying for America with me. It is truly our power and hope.

I am praying for God to bless you and your family, even as I pray God bless America!

Hugs,

Penny
